Selling Fossils in Jurassic World Evolution 2

Those wondering how to sell fossils will need to get them first. Once you build the Expedition Center, you’ll be able to send your scientists out on expeditions to dig up dinosaur bones. But they’ll also find other ancient remnants along the way, such as amphibian fossils, angiosperms, and conifer impressions. You may even find minerals, such as Iridium.

Each expedition takes a certain amount of time to complete, and once your scientist(s) have returned, you’ll see a skull icon above the Expedition Center letting you know there are fossils to look at.

To do so, open your Control Room menu, the top option in the toolbar on the left-hand side of the screen. Once there, click the Fossils tab with the white Triceratops and DNA icon.

This view shows you all of the fossils you currently have. Alongside the fossils used to advance dinosaur genomes, you’ll find those other remnants of ancient life.

When you select these, their image will appear on the right side of the screen, and their cash value will appear underneath the image. Beneath that, you can find how many extraction spots they’ll take up in case you want to hawk more than one at a time.

You can sell some fossils for $40,000; others go for $120,000 or more.

The catch is that each extraction costs $50,000, whether it’s to sell a single fossil or multiple, so you have to deduct that price from what it will go for. To make this more palatable, sell more than one at a time; you can see how many extraction spots each fossil will take up when you select it.

Then assign a scientist to extract a non-dino fossil and wait the required amount of time for the task to complete.

You don’t have to do anything else to get your hard-earned cash; the money will be automatically added to your overall funds. There are no buildings to build or hoops to jump through.

Keep in mind that some scientists can process fossils faster than others. If you can, assign scientists with the Fast Extraction Trait, which decreases the time it takes to sell fossils by 50%. For more on Jurassic World Evolution 2, consider checking out some of our other tips and tricks guides.
