Barone made the announcement in a new tweet showing how splitscreen co op would look. Because he’s said Stardew Valley multiplayer on mobile is “unfeasible,” splitscreen naturally won’t be coming to mobile.

Stardew Valley’s 1.5 update still doesn’t have an anticipated release date. However, splitscreen is just the beginning of what Barone has planned for the hit farming simulator.

Previous tweets teased things like a new room in Willy’s shack and new heart meter events, among other updates like moving the player character’s bed.

Eagle-eyed fans spotted some new teases in this tweet, too. The images Barone provided show a new sunglasses-wearing slime monster, bugs on crops, new equipment, new clothes, and even new crops, including what could be ginger.

That’s a lot for any team to work on, but Barone is planning two new Stardew Valley-adjacent games as well. Stay tuned to GameSkinny for more Stardew Valley news as it develops.
